A leading anti-Hezbollah Lebanese newspaper says Iran bears direct responsibility for dragging Lebanon into war.
The Lebanese newspaper Nidaa al-Watan, known for its opposition to Hezbollah, published a sharp headline declaring: “Iran must pay compensation.”
The paper argued that Iran is the actor directly responsible for the reasons the war erupted and expanded, pointing to Tehran’s role in backing Hezbollah and turning Lebanon into a forward operating arena for Iranian strategy.
The message reflects a growing anti-Hezbollah sentiment inside Lebanon: that the Lebanese people are paying the price for a war they did not choose, while Iran uses Lebanese territory, infrastructure and civilians as tools in its regional confrontation with Israel.
