Egyptian researcher Maher Al-Farghaly said in a January 6, 2026 appearance on Sky News Arabia (UAE) that Britain is giving cover to the Muslim Brotherhood, its leadership, and its media companies.
He elaborated that the General Secretariat of the global Muslim Brotherhood organization is headquartered there, along with Mahmoud Ibiary, editor-in-chief of the Muslim Brotherhood's weekly Risalat Al-Ikhwan, and Anas Altikriti, head of the Cordoba Foundation, whom he identified as senior leaders of the organization.
Al-Farghaly said that Britain will continue to protect these organizations in exchange for the intelligence they provide.
He added that Britain may ban certain branches of the organization, similar to initiatives in the United States to ban the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), and said that Britain could ban the Lebanese Muslim Brotherhood branch and some others.
