The command unit "Sabrin" - is a group of elite commando battalions, which carry out special military operations.

This unit was set up in 1999 by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards High Command, IRGC, to fight terrorism, and its forces were initially trained through Iranian military instructors.

Today it is a unit of the Special Forces and operates within the ground forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

The first commander of the Sabrin unit was the former commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Major General Muhammad Ali Jafari -  who currently commands the socio-cultural headquarters of the Khamenei regime.

The unit includes no less than 6,000 fighters who all volunteer, so no one was forced to join the unit.

The fighters in the Sabrin unit are carefully selected from the best and most skilled units among the ground, air and navy forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

The members of this unit have very high fighting abilities and excellent physical fitness.

The training of its fighters focuses on refining their physical and mental strength, to perform dangerous and difficult missions inside and outside the Republic. These challenging training courses include exercises in all terrain conditions, whether in the mountains, parachuting, naval combat, built-up area warfare or desert battle management.

The unit undertakes to carry out, at any given moment, difficult missions and operations in all contours, on land, in the air, at sea and in security missions.
