Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is reportedly investigating allegations that highly sensitive information about the time and location of a security meeting attended by Ali Khamenei was leaked shortly before a precision strike.
IRGC spokesman Sardar Mohabi told Iran’s Channel 1 that authorities are examining whether someone inside Khamenei’s security apparatus disclosed details of the meeting.
According to the report, approximately one month before the incident, the commander responsible for protecting Khamenei’s office was replaced by Elias Qalibaf, the son of Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf.
Khamenei reportedly arrived briefly at his office on February 28 for a security meeting known only to a very small circle of officials.
