Israeli security officials are closely following flights connected to Yemen’s Houthi-controlled aviation network, amid concern over routes from Sana’a to Jordan and their proximity to Israel’s southern border.
Flights operated by Yemenia Airways, now functioning under Houthi influence in Yemen, have been focusing mainly on the route between Sana’a and Amman. Jordan is currently considered the only country in the region allowing direct flights from Sana’a airport, making Amman the key destination for this limited air traffic.
In addition to Amman, Israeli officials are also watching the possibility of landings at King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, located close to Eilat and Israel’s Ramon Airport in the Negev.
According to security assessments, these flights are under Israeli monitoring due to the geographic sensitivity of the route. The concern is not only the flight activity itself, but the possibility that Houthi-linked operatives or materials could move through points near the Israel-Jordan border and the Eilat area.
