A report published in Moscow yesterday claims that in the first half of this year, most of which was in the midst of the war in Ukraine, Russia brought into its coffers 158 billion euros from the sale of gas and oil, mainly to Europe. In addition, the government collected taxes worth 43 billion dollars.
But there is also bad news for the Russian elite.
An internal report presented yesterday in the Kremlin presents a less rosy picture than the Russian authorities present in the media regarding the consequences of the sanctions. The report presented three scenarios regarding the Russian economy and all of them are pessimistic, with one of them talking about a return to economic activity similar to 2021 only towards the end of the decade.
