A Palestinian activist in Canada argued that the entire premise of terrorism must be rejected, while praising slain Hamas and Hezbollah leaders for giving supporters “comfort” and “direction.”
Montreal-based Palestinian writer and activist Tara Al-Alami said in a June 9, 2026 podcast appearance that the concept of “terrorism” is “racialized” and used against those who resist colonialism and imperialism.
Al-Alami claimed that every Israeli, including civilians living inside Israel’s 1948 borders, is part of a “settler colony” that stole Palestinian land and is engaged in genocide and ethnic cleansing.
She also praised Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Hamas military commander Muhammad Deif, and Hamas spokesman Abu Obayda, saying they had provided people on the ground with “comfort” and “direction.”
