An alarming wave of religious extremism is casting a dark shadow over the 2026 World Cup in the United States, as radical soccer fans increasingly target Western sports icons with dangerous Hate posts on social media.

Following Algeria’s crushing defeat against Argentina on it's first match at the world cup Tournament, where Lionel Messi scored a spectacular hat-trick, disgruntled Algerian fans took to the streets of Kansas City last night.

Frustrated by the loss, a crowd chanted, "There is no God but Allah, Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, and Messi is the enemy of Allah."
