Doron Kadosh reported further details from Operation “Brave Heart,” shedding light on the intelligence, forensic, and identification efforts that led to the recovery and identification of Staff Sgt. Ran Gvili, of blessed memory.
The sustained intelligence effort surrounding Ran Gvili made it possible to significantly narrow the scope of the search at the cemetery in Gaza. Instead of examining hundreds of potential graves, forces were able to conduct a focused search of only several dozen graves within a short timeframe.
More than 20 dental doctors from the Israel Defense Forces and the forensic identification unit of the Israel Police worked together for over 24 consecutive hours. During that time, they examined approximately 250 bodies until the identification of Staff Sgt. Ran Gvili was confirmed.
The identification process was carried out on site, inside the Gaza Strip, using advanced technological equipment that enabled a rapid and reliable identification.
