At the behest of Iran, the Houthis set up a special force for attacks in the Red Sea

The Arab coalition fighting Yemen alongside its legitimate government has revealed that the Houthi militia has set up a special force tasked with carrying out pirate operations and attacks in the Red Sea.

The coalition said at a news conference last Saturday regarding the port of Hadida that the main task of the special force of the Houthi militia is to carry out pirate and terrorist attacks, under the command of a man named Mansour al-Saadi.

A coalition spokesman explained that the militia had planned the latest attack on the Rwabi ship, carrying the UAE flag, in international waters, that it was on a mission to help hurricane victims on the island of Socotra.

In a video presentation, the coalition noted that the militia attacked the ship "Rabij 3" in the southern Red Sea, and also attacked the Saudi oil tanker "Abkaik" in the Red Sea as well, given that the Houthi represent Iranian threats.

He revealed that the coalition had destroyed dozens of naval mines planted by the Houthis in the Red Sea.

Meanwhile, an Arab coalition spokesman, Brigadier General al-Maliki, confirmed that Houthi militias had deployed Iranian Nur missile systems to threaten Red Sea shipping lanes.
He added, "All the ships attacked by the Houthis reflect the plans of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards under the supervision of the Houthi naval units."

At the press conference, which was intended to reveal evidence of the military exploitation of the ports of Hudaydeh, he noted that the Iranian regime "provides the Houthis with weapons and missiles through the port of Hudaydah."

He noted that the Houthi militia had dispatched 100 inferno boats from the Haditha port to ships sailing in the Red Sea, and confirmed that 13 of them were commercial ships.

On January 3, 2022, the Arab Coalition reported that the Houthi militia had hijacked a cargo ship carrying the Emirates flag off the coast of the Red Sea city of Hudaydah, explaining that the cargo ship (Rawabi), which had fallen victim to Houthi piracy, was on a naval mission from Socotra Island to the port."

Since the outbreak of the Yemeni War, the Houthis in Yemen have seized strategic ports along Yemeni shores, and used them to attack and take over foreign ships sailing in the Red Sea waters.
