Israel’s Defense Ministry and Rafael have completed a broad and successful series of tests for the Iron Dome system, including new upgrades based on operational lessons from the recent war and the fighting against Iran.

The tests were led by the Israel Missile Defense Organization in the Defense Ministry’s Directorate of Defense Research and Development, together with Rafael. The system was tested against a range of advanced threats, including rockets, cruise missiles and UAVs.

The new upgrades are designed to improve Iron Dome’s ability to handle both current and future attack scenarios, including higher rates and larger volumes of fire. The tests also included joint operating scenarios with Israel’s high-power laser system, Iron Beam, which is being integrated as a complementary layer to Iron Dome through the same command-and-control network.
