23 Assad regime soldiers killed in ISIS attacks in ten days in the Syrian desert
Despite the ground campaign launched by regime forces and their proxies supported by Russian aircraft and Russian command against ISIS members and the combing operations in the Syrian desert, they have neither put an end to ISIS attacks nor achieved the campaign’s objectives, where ISIS members continue to increase their activities, including attacks, ambushes and clashes against regime forces and their proxies.
On June 5, SOHR sources reported that regime forces, with the participation of the Al-Quds Brigade and the military divisions (11, 18 and 25), continue military operations in the Syrian desert, led by Russia and with the participation of its warplanes, to strike “ISIS” deployment positions in Al-Rusafah desert in Al-Raqqah countryside, Deir Ezzor desert and Palmyra and Al-Sukhnah deserts, all the way to Al-Tanaf in the eastern countryside of Homs.
Since the beginning of July, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) has documented ten operations carried out by ISIS members in the Syrian desert, these operations left 23 members of regime forces dead.
