Austria: 5 dead women in 100 days, the bloody balance sheet of Somali Muslim asylum seekers

“5 dead women in 100 days: the bloody balance sheet of Somali asylum seekers,” translated from “In 100 Tagen 5 tote Frauen: Die blutige Bilanz somalischer Asylwerber,” by Johanna Tschavoll, Exxpress, September 14, 2021:

After the bloody act in Vienna-Favoriten: The balance of knife and violence attacks by Somalis in recent months in Austria and its neighboring countries is devastating. There have been several attacks on women and children in the last seven days alone. Five women died this summer at the hands of two Somalis in Würzburg and Vienna. At least 14 people, including several children, were seriously injured.

At the moment, the whole of Austria is shaken by the brutal act of a 28-year-old Somali asylum seeker who is said to have brutally murdered his daughter’s mother and her girlfriend with a kitchen knife and a rolling pin on Monday evening.

Just last Saturday, a 26-year-old Somali ran amok in a bus in the popular northern Italian town of Rimini and stabbed five people. He seriously injured a little boy with a knife.

Also on Saturday, a Somali in Innsbruck wounded a compatriot with a knife, and he was also taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Women and children in particular are victims of Somali asylum seekers

In Germany, a terrible attack in Würzburg shocked all of Europe at the end of June – a 24-year-old Somali killed three women aged 24, 49 and 82 in a department store. He also seriously injured three women aged 52, 39 and 73 years. An eleven-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy also fought for survival after severe knife attacks on the neck and chest. All the signs point to an Islamist background to the crime, but the German investigators have not yet made any specific statements. The mayor of the city of Würzburg even spoke in a letter about the need to be more open and tolerant, justifying: “How would you feel as a foreigner?” The 24-year-old criminal with a criminal record has now been transferred to psychiatry.

One of the victims of the Würzburg assassin: 24-year-old Stefanie.

Almost weekly knife attacks

In Hanau, a Somali was sentenced to life imprisonment just last week for stabbing an Afghan asylum seeker with a knife in a dispute over a dirty shower at the beginning of the year. The attacks do not always end fatally: it was not until the end of July that a Somali was eliminated at the last minute in Frankfurt. Armed with two knives, he attacked a 65-year-old pensioner who was unknown to him. However, he was able to defend himself in time with pepper spray. A week earlier, a Somali in Hesse stabbed his wife and neighbors with an onion knife – when he ran towards the police with the murder weapon, he was killed by five shots by a police officer.

Attacks on public transport are increasing

Time and time again, there are clashes and attacks by Somali asylum seekers on public transport in German-speaking countries. It was only in January that a Somali man beat up an 83-year-old pensioner in the Berlin S-Bahn and stole her handbag. In Basel at the end of last year, several seriously injured people were in a dispute between asylum seekers.

Somalis have a penchant for Islamism

Investigators are concerned with Somali asylum seekers and migrants, particularly in the area of ??violent crime and violence against women, but also in the area of ??Islamism. According to Somali journalist Hassan Abukar, the Salafist-Islamist movement is very popular in Somalia. The Salafists who come here “generally have no interest in integration or assimilation,” said the journalist. The children, it is said from circles in the community, are brought up strictly Islamic. In Vienna, 2 to 3 year old toddlers are often seen wearing headscarves. The fact that this is not allowed in Austria seems to be of secondary importance in the canon of values ??for many Somalis. Leaving the Somali community is almost insurmountable for young women; hardly any of them manage to evade Islamic and cultural constraints. One of the few dropouts is women’s rights activist and author Ayaan Hirsi. In your opinion, Islam is the “greatest threat to women’s rights in Europe.” She lives with constant personal protection.

98 percent of Somali women are genitally mutilated

The circumcision of little girls is also still practised, more than one million small children fall victim to this terrible genital mutilation – several tens of thousands of children are also said to be at risk of it in Austria and Germany. 98 percent of girls and women between the ages of 15 and 49 are genitally mutilated there. Criminal charges are rarely brought in Austria, and secrecy prevails in the communities.
