Hezbollah is working hard on its reconstruction, starting with creating new money smuggling routes.
Lebanese sources claim that Hezbollah has replaced the cash flow channel from Iran with funds now coming from Iraq.
Some enter by flights, some through Syria, sometimes within groups of pilgrims. At the same time, there are reports of expansion in business activities in the gold and used car sectors in Lebanon — sectors traditionally active with Hezbollah members.
According to reports, gold is smuggled to Hezbollah members from Turkey. Hezbollah operatives exploit the Lebanese economy's situation, where cash businesses are estimated to be worth between 14 and 15 billion dollars, out of a market valued at about 22 billion dollars, which makes it easier for them to launder money.
