The Syrian news network "Deir ez-Zor 24" reported that Iranian militias deployed in the province of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria have begun building a network of tunnels and small underground rooms.
These are being built to prevent losses in their ranks as a result of the repeated bombings they are exposed to, whether by the US or Israel.
The Iranian militias intend to use these tunnels as secret warehouses to prevent their destruction by the bombings that they receive repeatedly.
A few days ago, local sources in the Deir E-Zor district said that a large landslide in the street next to the old garage in the city of Deir E-Zor revealed a short tunnel that extends to a distance of about 50 meters.
The news network stated that this landslide is the third landslide in Deir ez-Zor in recent years, which has exposed former ISIS tunnels.
An official in the countryside of Damascus has confirmed that Iran has taken over the tunnels dug by the opposition factions in Aleut years ago, with the aim of using them to store weapons, while preventing Syrian army forces from approaching them.
