Today, Friday, August 13, the Assad regime's security services announced the seizure of large quantities of narcotics in the city of Homs, in the center of the country.

The source added that a man and a woman had been arrested, and in the initial investigation admitted that the drug pills were intended for smuggling out of the country.

The Assad regime is trying to place the blame on the export of the Captagon to neighboring countries and the world on other factors, claiming that large quantities of Captagon have been seized within the Syrian provinces or in the border areas.

According to Syrian investigation reports, at least 15 large factories producing Captagon, along with other industrial drugs, are under regime control. These factories are located mainly along the Damascus-Homs road and in other industrial areas. In addition to the presence of major production sites in the Homs district, and the areas along the Syrian-Lebanese border between Al-Qusayr and Baalbek, and in the neglected Basa-Basa area outside the city of Latakia.
