Iraqi Sunni tribal leader Sheikh Ali Hatem delivered a blunt message in a Sky News Arabia interview: the Iranian regime cannot coexist with the region and must be confronted.
Hatem said Iran has brought destruction upon itself and the Middle East, arguing that the regime’s expansionist project has destabilized Arab countries from within. He said Iraq’s real problem is not Israel, but Iran.
According to Hatem, Israel has not invaded countries in the region, imprisoned their people, executed them, or sent terrorists against them. Iran, he said, has done exactly that through its regional proxies and influence networks.
He added that no country in the region, except Israel, has the power to confront Iran, neutralize its threat, or stop its nuclear program. Speaking from an Arab perspective, he said Iran is the source of the region’s problems, while “Israel is God’s problem.”
