US Mideast envoy Witkoff slams Hamas over ceasefire response

Trump's point man in the region called the terrorist group's latest moves "disappointing and completely unacceptable"

(May 27, 2025 / JNS) U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff on Monday criticized Hamas for its latest actions in the ongoing hostage and ceasefire negotiations, calling them “disappointing and completely unacceptable.”

His remarks come as the United States intensifies efforts to broker a new agreement aimed at ending hostilities in Gaza and securing the release of Israeli hostages.

“What I have seen from Hamas is disappointing and completely unacceptable,” Witkoff told Barak Ravid of Axios, rejecting the terrorist organization’s claim that it had accepted a U.S. proposal.

It’s absurd to think that Hamas savages will release hostages under and reasonable negotiated settlement. It’s been tried time and time again. Same with Iran. The only way to military force.

There are too many people involved in the negotiations process. This allows Hamas to have the upper hand in international news cycles by claiming agreement but not agreeing to the right one. Reduce it
