Yemen: Reports of fleeing Houthi leaders signal internal collapse
Amid escalating Houthi attacks on Israel and Israeli retaliatory strikes on ports and key infrastructure in Yemen, questions have emerged about the division of military roles between the U.S. and Israel.

Brig. Gen. Thabet Hussein, a military and political analyst, believes there is unofficial coordination: “So far, it appears there’s a division of labor — the U.S. targets military sites, while Israel strikes logistical infrastructure.”
In early July, Israel launched concentrated strikes on Yemen’s Hodeidah, Ras Issa, and Salif ports, as well as a strategic power plant, in response to a Houthi attempt to attack Ben Gurion Airport.
