I’ve said time and again, this is a city of international law, and that means looking to uphold international law
New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is escalating his earlier pledge to uphold the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over “war crimes” in Gaza.
“I’ve said time and again that I believe this is a city of international law, and being a city of international law means looking to uphold international law,” Mamdani said Tuesday during an appearance on ABC7. “And that means upholding the warrants from the International Criminal Court, whether they’re for Benjamin Netanyahu or Vladimir Putin.”
Although Mamdani acknowledged the United States is not a signatory to the ICC treaty, he insisted New York will not repeat the “lawlessness” of the Trump era.
