Since yesterday, calls have been made on social media in Jordan for the release of attorney Ma'tez Awad, who was arrested by the authorities.
According to unofficial reports, he was arrested after he criticized the kingdom's stance towards the so-called "genocide" that Israel is committing in Gaza, and expressed his anger that Jordan participates in a "land bridge" designed to facilitate the transport of goods from the Gulf to Israel in order to bypass the Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.
On Thursday, another political activist named Khaled Natur was arrested in Jordan, who also criticized Jordan's inaction in view of what is happening in Gaza.
It should be noted that since October 7, Jordan has arrested hundreds of people for making "unacceptable" chants during their participation in pro-Gaza demonstrations or through social networks. The detainees are those who criticize the conduct of the Kingdom in view of the continuation of the war in Gaza.
