Truck loaded with Grad missiles seized in Syria en route to Lebanon
Syrian state television reported that security forces in Homs intercepted a truck carrying Grad missiles on its way to Lebanon. The vehicle was stopped in a carefully planned ambush near the Lebanese border, with the cargo confiscated and transferred to the authorities. Officials described it as another attempt to smuggle weapons to Hezbollah’s depots in northern Lebanon.
Regional sources suggest that the successful seizure was made possible thanks to precise Israeli intelligence, which has in recent weeks enabled Syria to ambush and disrupt Iranian arms convoys crossing through Iraq and Syria.
While some shipments are believed to still reach Hezbollah, the latest operation highlights the effectiveness of ongoing Israeli-Syrian intelligence cooperation.
