The IDF troops and the police thwarted the smuggling attempt of 100 kg of hashish from the Egyptian border, near the city of Eilat. The troops identified a suspicious vehicle, and managed to locate the bags of drugs. Only later in the day did the unit manage to locate the suspects in the case, and arrest one of them.
During the night, forces from the Yoav Brigade and the Artillery Brigade identified a suspicious vehicle in Israeli territory, near the Egyptian border, northwest of the city of Eilat. The fighters operated in the area and located sacks in which a large amount of hashish drugs was found.
Later, this morning, the forces managed to locate several suspects involved in the selection event, and arrested one of the suspects.
The suspect, and the bags of drugs were transferred to the Eilat regional police for investigation.
