President Donald Trump marked his 80th birthday by announcing that the United States and Iran had reached a memorandum of agreement following negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan.
CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING NETWORK -- Trump said he had authorized the termination of the US naval blockade against Iranian ports and shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
“Congratulations to all!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow!”
Pakistani officials confirmed that both sides had agreed to an immediate and permanent end to military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. Mediators are expected to facilitate additional meetings this week to prepare the framework for detailed technical negotiations.
