The American magazine "Newsweek" revealed an intelligence document, which states that Iran has equipped an armed unit consisting of thousands of fighters from several nationalities, capable of carrying out attacks against American forces in Syria and Israel (NEWSRAEL: There are no US troops in Israel).
An official in the intelligence agency associated with a country allied to the US said that the division, which Iran called "Imam Hussein", is related to the "Quds Force" of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), and has special capabilities to carry out these missions.
The official added that the armed militia "Imam al-Hussein" carried out attacks with precision guided weapons, attack and spy drones, and a wide variety of light weapons against the US Army garrison in the Altanaf region of southeastern Syria, in October 2021.
The official confirmed that the militia launched attacks against Israel in January 2019, using surface-to-surface missiles, a rocket attack in June 2019 and an attempted drone attack in August 2019, which was then reported to have been intercepted by the Israeli army.
According to the document, additional attacks are planned against the two allies, while the intelligence source noted that the division loyal to Iran is preparing and mobilizing capabilities to pose a threat to US forces in Syria and Israel.
