Lebanese media report that an elite IDF unit crossed into southern Lebanon and abducted an Islamic Group operative during a ground raid near the Israeli border.
Lebanese outlets reported on Sunday that an elite Israeli force carried out a ground infiltration into the town of Habbariyeh, in the Arqoub region of southern Lebanon, abducting an operative affiliated with the Sunni Islamist group al-Jama'a al-Islamiyya.
The individual was identified as Atwi Atwi, who was reportedly seized in the evening hours and taken to an unknown location.
According to the reports, the incident comes amid ongoing tensions along the Israel–Lebanon border, with Lebanese media claiming a recent increase in Israeli ground incursions and abduction operations in border areas. Israel has not issued an official comment on the reported operation.
