The United States has arrested and transferred to its territory a key suspect involved in the 2012 attack on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya. According to the US Department of Justice, the suspect was flown overnight to Joint Base Andrews and is currently in custody.
The suspect faces multiple charges, including murder, attempted murder, terrorism offenses, conspiracy, and arson, for his role in the coordinated attack that killed the US ambassador to Libya and three other Americans. US authorities stressed that this is the third significant arrest in the Benghazi case and emphasized that efforts to bring all those responsible to justice will continue, even many years after the attack.
