WATCH: Massive migrant lines in Spain after amnesty law passes

Large crowds of illegal migrants were seen lining up outside consulates in Almería as Spain begins implementing a sweeping new regularization policy.

The move follows a decision by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to grant legal status to potentially up to 800,000 illegal migrants.

The policy allows those currently residing in Spain without documentation to begin the process of obtaining legal residency, triggering a surge of applicants seeking to formalize their status.
