New information has been revealed about the attack on the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus, during the last few hours, some 20 days after the Israeli attack on the Iranian headquarters.
Informed sources reported that the attack led to the killing of the entire command line responsible for the activities of the Revolutionary Guards in Syria and Lebanon, according to what the Bloomberg TV network reported.
The sources explained, according to the "Jerusalem Post", that the commander, nicknamed "Mohammed Reza Zahadi" and his deputy, "Mohammed Hadi Rahimi", in addition to the other officers who were killed in the Israeli attack, were sure that the consulate building next to the Iranian embassy building was "the safest" in Damascus, and that Israel will not dare to attack it.
In addition, information revealed that before the air attack on the consulate building, the residences of the Iranian ambassador and consul were supposed to be moved to a new residential complex on the same street, where relatives of the head of the Syrian regime - Assad live.
But shortly before the attack, senior members of the Revolutionary Guards met on the second floor of the consulate building and decided to stay there.
