Two leading Israeli intelligence authors, Yossi Melman and Dan Raviv, revealed new details on Mossad’s use of Iranian regime opponents during Israel’s 12-day war against the Islamic Republic.
Their report, published on August 6 by ProPublica, is based on interviews with ten former and current Israeli intelligence officials. Mossad itself did not comment.
Iranian partners on the ground
On June 13, as Israel launched massive strikes on Iran, a commando team led by a young Iranian code-named Sin. T prepared to hit radar and missile batteries defending Tehran. Other Israeli-trained Iranian cells across the country targeted military installations from within. These raids, the report says, enabled the Israeli Air Force to bomb without losing a single plane.
The IDF later announced that half of Iran’s 3,000 ballistic missiles and 80% of its launchers were destroyed, alongside heavy strikes on nuclear facilities and the killing of senior commanders and scientists.
