Wikipedia, the world’s fifth most visited website, is no longer a neutral source of information.
A coordinated network of anti-Israel activists has been systematically editing and manipulating thousands of articles related to Israel, Zionism, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
These activists work in small rotating groups to avoid detection. They’ve made over 850,000 edits that portray Israel as a colonial, apartheid, genocidal regime.Examples include changing the opening of the Zionism page to frame it as colonization rather than the Jewish people’s return to their indigenous homeland. Hamas-related articles downplay or omit key parts of its charter calling for Israel’s destruction. New or altered pages treat accusations of Israeli apartheid and genocide as established facts while minimizing Palestinian terrorism and antisemitism.
Mainstream pro-Israel sources like the ADL are labeled unreliable, while anti-Israel outlets are treated as credible. This bias spreads because Wikipedia feeds into Google results, AI tools like ChatGPT, and is often the first stop for students, journalists, and others.
