The Ottoman Empire, also known as the Turkish Empire ruled Israel (then known as Palestine) from 1517 to 1917. 400 horrible Years!

"On this day in 1917, The Ottomans surrendered Jerusalem to Sgt Sedgewick & Sgt Hurcomb, 2/19 London Regiment. Without the defeat of the Ottoman Empire across the land of Israel by British Empire forces, Ottomans could still be occupying the land of Israel & theoretically, there would be no democratic state of Israel today."
