A direct Mahan Air flight from Tehran to Sanaa raises fears that Iran is establishing a new aerial corridor to its Houthi proxy in Yemen.
Iran appears to be renewing its supply line to the Houthis, but this time not through smuggling boats or shadowy routes across the Gulf of Aden.
A Mahan Air aircraft linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards landed in Houthi-controlled Sanaa on Friday after flying directly from Tehran.
The Houthis presented the flight as a humanitarian mission carrying more than 200 sick and wounded passengers back to Yemen, while also transporting a Houthi delegation to Tehran for the mourning ceremonies for Ali Khamenei.
