A Russian delegation consisting of senior military officers met with the field commanders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Deir ez-Zor and demanded from them not to fire at US bases in Syria.

Sounds like a Putin scam to me. Russia knows their military has been depleted because of their invasion of Ukraine. Russia knows there is no more equipment of any substance left if things escalate.
