The Wall Street Journal continues to publish unflattering articles to say the least about Saudi Arabia. This time it reports the mass departure of senior executives employed in the "speech" project - the city of the future that Saudi Arabia is establishing with an investment of about half a trillion dollars.
According to the report, the senior foreign managers tend to give up the huge contracts due to the way the project manager manages and behaves - Nazmi a-Nasr, an associate of the regent, Muhammad bin Salman. The newspaper reports for example an incident from two years ago after two large companies canceled sponsorship contracts.
Al-Nasr convened his senior staff over the weekend and asked him why he did not know about it and who was responsible for not letting him know. When he did not receive an answer, he said in the room that if he did not know who was responsible for the overthrow, he would take out his gun and shoot those present.
