CAIR Ohio Executive Director Khalid Turaani said in a television interview that he wishes Israel would be eliminated “once and for all,” claiming this would make “our region” safe. He also argued that the United States should negotiate directly with Iran to resolve the current crisis.
During the interview, Turaani claimed Iran is ready to offer President Trump a “ladder to climb down” if the US enters what he described as “real and binding negotiations” that guarantee Iran will not be targeted and will receive compensation. He framed negotiations with Iran as the only path to resolving the conflict.
Turaani further suggested that the war with Iran was initiated to divert attention from domestic political issues in the United States and alleged that American soldiers could begin dying if the conflict escalates.
