The newspaper "A-Sharq al-Awast", citing a source in the Syrian opposition, said that Hezbollah has turned the city of Al-Qusayr (south of the city of Homs) into a "mini-state" for it that serves as its backyard in Syria.
Al-Qusair is a sensitive location for Hezbollah, due to its proximity to the Lebanese border, especially to the towns of Harmel and Elksar and Aed to Baalbek in the Lebanese Bekaa Valley.
According to evidence, Hezbollah has turned Al-Qusayr into a real military base and has outposts and headquarters and even a number of training camps for it and other pro-Iranian militias.
The residents of Al-Qusayr who wish to return to their homes undergo a strict inspection that they are not cooperating 'with the enemy' and they must declare and act loyally to the Syrian regime and Hezbollah.
