Erdogan Under Pressure? Kurds inflict painful blow in Syria
Kurdish forces have successfully repelled attacks from Turkey-backed militias in northern Syria, inflicting heavy damage.
The confrontation between the two forces has escalated since the fall of Assad’s regime, as Turkey seeks to seize additional territory.
At least 24 fighters, mostly from Turkey-supported groups, have been killed in clashes with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Manbij area of northern Syria, according to Al Arabiya.
Reports indicate that the confrontations resulted in the deaths of 23 fighters from Turkey-backed groups and one fighter from the Manbij Military Council, part of the SDF. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also confirmed these casualties.
