Recent investigative reporting claims that a network of Islamist organizations—some later tied by US authorities to Hamas, Al-Qaeda, and other terrorist movements—successfully embedded itself in American civil society and political circles over several decades. The report alleges that through charities, think tanks, and advocacy groups, Islamist movements such as the Muslim Brotherhood and Jamaat-e-Islami cultivated access to senior US political figures, including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, philanthropist George Soros, and Clinton aide Huma Abedin.
