Senior intelligence and Southern Command officers warned IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir that Hamas is rapidly restoring its military capabilities in Gaza.
Senior officers from IDF Intelligence and Southern Command warned the chief of staff last week that Hamas’s military wing is reorganizing for another round of war.
According to the warning, Hamas is producing hundreds of explosive devices and anti-tank weapons every month, recruiting terrorists aged 18 to 22, renewing training for Nukhba terrorists, attempting to smuggle drones and communications equipment from Sinai, and rebuilding underground infrastructure across the Gaza Strip.
The IDF’s position, which has also been conveyed to the Americans, is that Israel must return to combat operations. However, the Americans oppose a renewed offensive and prefer to remain within the current framework of agreements, while continuing to advance President Trump’s vision and the Peace Council.
