Israel will join the international initiative to develop a safe and responsible policy for artificial intelligence and will assist the G7 countries in its development, said the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology.
The “Hiroshima AI Process Friends Group” is an international initiative to develop a global voluntary policy and is responsible for artificial intelligence led by the Japanese government and the industrialized countries of the world (G7) based on a professional infrastructure formulated in the OECD.
“Israel’s joining the international project,” said the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology “is a significant step that testifies to Israel’s solid position as a global leader in the field, and to the state’s commitment to promote responsible artificial intelligence based on the principles of responsibility, transparency, reliability and safety.”
The “Hiroshima Project” began in 2023 and within its framework two major documents have been formulated so far, one offering general principles for the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence (International Guiding Principles for All AI Actors), and the other offering a “code of conduct” for organizations developing advanced artificial intelligence systems (International Code of Conduct for Organizations Developing Advanced AI Systems).
