Ukraine said that its forces shot down four of six cruise missiles and ten of 16 drones launched by Russian forces on June 9. Kyiv said Russia launched Kh-101s and Kh-55s cruise missiles from a  Tu-95MS bomber. 

Overnight, explosions were reported in Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts. Ukraine’s interior ministry said one person had been killed, three were wounded after Russia’s latest attack. 

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s military said its troops killed 1010 Russian soldiers and destroyed 10 Russian tanks in the last 24 hours. 

Russian defence systems have shot down targets over the Belgorod region bordering Ukraine, the regional governor said. Ukrainian forces have suffered losses in heavy equipment and soldiers against Russian forces, two US officials told CNN.
