In a follow-up exchange with Israeli journalist Zvi Yehezkeli, British activist Tommy Robinson says the UK is undergoing a “mass awakening” after Oct. 7, claiming huge pro-Hamas demonstrations revealed the scale of Islamist influence inside Britain.
He argues authorities “surrendered” control of the streets, which forced the wider public to recognize that the battle is no longer confined to Israel or the Middle East but “in the hearts” of Western societies—across universities, institutions, and culture.
Robinson contends that legacy outlets underestimated the numbers on the streets and lost their monopoly on narratives. He credits the resurgence of online free speech—citing Elon Musk’s platforms—and a fast-growing network of citizen journalists with challenging the mainstream media’s framing on Israel and Islamism.
He also says Donald Trump’s election in the US helped preserve space for free speech in the West. According to Robinson, labels like “far-right” and accusations of “genocide” against Israel are propaganda tools designed to silence critics.
