Ben-Gvir protests punishment of Israeli soldiers

'Our job is to support our fighters. I call on the army to think again... This is a very bad message'

i24 reports that lawmaker Itamar Ben-Gvir on Tuesday criticized a decision by Israel’s army to sentence a soldier who taunted a radical Leftist activist in Hebron last week to 10 days in military prison.

Ben-Gvir insinuated that the activists probably provoked the soldiers, prompting their forceful reaction: "I know these leftists well who come to Hebron. They provoke the soldiers, insult them, and often attack them as well."

The Muslims of HEVRON are the most dangerous, hateful, antagonistic and provocative. My heart is with any IDF soldier sent into that area.

The civilian government should not get involved in military discipline cases like this. I am a huge supporter of the IDF but this sentence does not seem excessive.

Not the soldier but the provoking activist should be in prison!
