Russia and Iran are expanding their cooperation, although it seems that there is not much trust between the parties and Iran fears that information it will transfer to Russia will reach other countries (Israel).
The Iranian parliament yesterday approved an agreement in the field of "information security" with Russia that was brought forward as a government bill. 180 supported, 27 opposed and 10 abstained. The clauses of the agreement were not made public but its supporters claimed that it would help Iran deal with the increasing cyber attacks it has had to deal with in recent years.
The opposition of some members of parliament raises questions about him. Member of Parliament Hossein Ali Haji Galigani, for example, stated that the agreement is problematic since it states that each of the countries will be able to share the information it receives with a "third country."
Another member of parliament, Mohammadreda Sabajian, stated that he was against the law because "based on past experience, the Russians cannot be trusted."
