The request is now being transferred, according to procedure, to the Pardons Department at the Ministry of Justice, which will also collect relevant opinions from various bodies within the Ministry of Justice. These will then be forwarded to the legal adviser to the President’s Office and their team, who will prepare an additional opinion for the President.
The President’s Office notes that this is an exceptional clemency request with significant implications. After receiving all the opinions, the President will consider it with responsibility and due seriousness.
The request includes two documents: a detailed letter signed by his attorney, and a letter signed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
