In accordance with the Chief of Staff's directive, IDF forces continue to assist the Israel Police and the fire and rescue forces in extinguishing the hotspots and fires that broke out over the past 24 hours.
Forces from the Rescue Brigade and the Jerusalem and Central Districts of the Home Front Command, together with the "Geffen" Battalion of the 1st Infantry Division, are working to create exposures around settlements using anti-aircraft weapons and continue to conduct joint situation assessments on an ongoing basis. A reserve Home Front Command firefighter battalion is reinforcing the National Fire and Rescue Authority and assisting the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council.
The Air Force continues to provide continuous assistance through firefighting teams operating alongside dedicated firefighting tools from special units. In addition, the Air Force has established a joint air synchronization command center in the fire area.
The Operations Division in the Intelligence Division is activating and synchronizing a variety of resources to assist in analyzing the fire area and directing fire and rescue forces. The 9900 unit conducted several satellite sorties and additional contract tools that underwent intelligence analysis in order to identify, decode, and map the main fire centers. In addition, an extensive technological effort was made by additional intelligence units to make the information accessible to forces on the ground in real time.
The Technology and Logistics Division operates three refreshment complexes for the security forces and fire and rescue forces. The complexes have stations with uniforms and work clothes, restrooms and showers for the forces, along with food stations and rest and refreshment stations. Fire engines and fire crews from the Israeli Air Force continue to operate at the fire sites, and dozens of firefighting vehicles continue to create fire lanes to prevent the fire from spreading to other areas.
