If the mood following Donald Trump’s Election Day victory seems joyful and calm, you're not alone in feeling this way.
Many American households and businesses are experiencing a renewed sense of tranquility and optimism. A recent Pew Research poll indicates that 70 percent of Americans are either very or somewhat confident that the transition to the Trump administration will proceed smoothly. Furthermore, a majority of respondents express a favorable view of Trump’s actions after the election.
Fifty-three percent of Americans approve of the president-elect’s plans for the country. When asked about Trump’s post-election behavior, the same percentage responds positively. This approval rating surpasses the 40 percent who endorsed Trump’s cabinet selections in November 2016 and the 41 percent who were satisfied with his communication regarding policies and future plans.
As expected, there are noticeable partisan divides in the reactions to the election. Just 10 percent of Republicans felt satisfied with the country as of October, but that figure has risen to 35 percent. In contrast, Democratic satisfaction has decreased from 38 percent to 24 percent.
