The IDF Spokesperson has released details about the surrender of Hamas terrorists in Beit Hanoun, initially announced by the Minister of Defense:
During field questioning by IDF troops, the terrorists revealed they had planned to escape after another terrorist hiding with them in a tunnel shaft was killed during a clash with Israeli forces.
They also disclosed the location of a nearby weapons cache, which they led the soldiers to. There, troops seized large quantities of weapons, including vests, magazines, fragmentation grenades, and firearms. Inside the tunnel, soldiers found long-term supplies such as food, water, and hygiene products.
The terrorists were handed over for further interrogation by Israeli security agencies. The weapons were confiscated, and the tunnel is now being examined by IDF combat engineers.
