NEWSRAEL: There are, at this time, several different reports coming in, including a report that the prison has been taken back in its entirety. We have a feeling this is "too good, too soon" and are doing our best to find out exactly what is happening there, but this report, at least, has been confirmed.
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Media Center revealed, on Wednesday, about 1000 Islamic State Organization (ISIS) members, who holed up in al-Sina’a prison, in Hasakah, northeast Syria, have turned themselves in to SDF.
The SDF said in a statement during precise combing operations over the past few days, the forces “have succeeded in controlling the serious security conditions in the larger part of the al-Sina’a prison in al-Hasakah.”
“Our forces managed to capture more terrorist attackers and forced other mutineers terrorists inside the prison to surrender themselves,” the statement read.
“The number of terrorists forced to surrender has risen to about 1,000 terrorists. While our forces’ security operations are still ongoing to regain complete control of the prison.”
Simultaneously, large-scale and precise sweep operations in many areas of Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, and Hasakah are continuing, according to the statement.
